We welcome Inverkeithing Hillfield Swifts as they join the senior football ranks in the East of Scotland League. Hillfield Swifts were founded in 1996 as Inverkeithing Boys Club and changed their name to Inverkeithing Blue Brazil at the instigation of Craig Levein in 1997. Eddie Spence and Barry McMahon were involved with the Swifts then. A couple of years later, the link with Cowden was dropped and the current name adopted. The Blue Brazil Boys Club which is based at Venters Park was also formed in the 1990s originally as a feeder club for Cowdenbeath FC but also later became a fully independent entity. Cowdenbeath FC exceptionally has granted the Blue Brazil Boys Club the right to use its Registered Trademark ‘the Blue Brazil’.

This year’s competition will have another novel twist with the addition of two English sides to the mix. Boreham Wood and Sutton United from the National League will play in this season’s competition with the draw for the first round ties to be made on Tuesday 26 June.

Took place at Hampden Park last week with David Allan attending on behalf of the club.

The club will utilise the facilities at St Andrew’s University in June and July. Then we move to Oriam in Edinburgh for the August to March period before ending the seas
