The Under 20 side have two games in 24 hours this week which start on Tuesday night when they face East of Scotland League neighbours Burntisland Shipyard in the Fife Cup Final, looking to retain the trophy they won last season, at Recreation Park with a 7 p.m. kick off.
To reach this years final we have beaten East Fife 1-0 at Bayview Stadium back in October courtesy of a Jordan Garden goal and Raith Rovers at home earlier this month when we ran out 2-0 winners with goals from Cameron Muirhead and Thomas Marks.
The Shippy, now managed by former Cowden player from the mid 90s Grant Brough, were losing 2-0 in their semi final through goals from Paul Allen and Matty Todd before the game was abandoned after 50 minutes after a serious injury to Pars player Aaron Splaine.
The match was originally to be replayed but Dunfermline later opted to withdraw and this allowed the Shippy to progress to the final.
In the East of Scotland League Burntisland currently sit in 8th place of the 13 team league having won 7 and lost 14 of their 21 games. Last week they had contrasting results losing 4-0 against Lothian Thistle Hutchison Vale at Easthouses on Thursday night but two days later they beat Peebles by a similar score at home.
