It's the final away game of the regular league season on Saturday when we head over the border to face Berwick at Shielfield Park with a 3pm kick off.

The previous three meetings of the sides have seen Berwick win all three games which given the eight point difference between the sides has seen them preserve their league status.

Since the four games a season format was introduced neither side have never done the "clean sweep" of four wins.

The first meeting back in August saw coach Myles Allan in charge of Berwick days after former manager John Coughlin had left the club and a goal from one time Cowden loanee Aaron Murrell gave them a 1-0 win at Central Park.

By the time the sides met at Shielfield in October Robbie Horn, who of course played for both sides, had taken over and a late penalty from Michael McKenna (now at Arbroath) gave them another 1-0 win in what proved to be Billy Brown's last game in charge of us.

The return game at Central Park in January saw a 3-1 win for Berwick with Jack Hamilton opening the scoring before Harvey Swann leveled from the penalty spot on the stroke of half time.

However with the strong wind behind them in the second half goals from Steven Thomson and Ouzy See, who will miss this weeks game after picking up a serious injury at Montrose last Saturday, gave them three vital points.

Since that game on 27th January Berwick haven't won another league game - a run of 13 games which has seen five draws and eight defeats.

With the play-offs looming against either Cove or Spartans manager Gary Bollan may take the opportunity to rest some of our players ahead of those games.
