Cowdenbeath striker David Cox was today interviewed on BBC Radio Scotland's John Beattie show on the subject of mental health and his own experiences of having abuse directed at him during his football career.
Cowdenbeath FC stated, "David has joined us here at Central Park just in the last fortnight – he was keen to work again with our manager Gary Bollan who had previously been his manager at Forfar. We are aware of the issues that David has experienced in the past – mainly through the past media reporting of these matters. Cowdenbeath FC condemns abuse of any individual who may be targeted in such a way, be it David or anyone else. It is now the 21st Century and such blinkered behaviour is as unacceptable in football as it is unacceptable in society at large. Cowdenbeath FC already has its own published unacceptable behaviour policy and we would look to take firm action if there were to be any instances of such behaviour at any of our matches."
