MATCH PREVIEW - DUNDEE (H)
MATCH PREVIEW - DUNDEE (H)
Posted July 24, 2017
We continue a busy week of Betfred Group C matches on Wednesday night when we host Premiership side Dundee at Central Park with a 7.45 p.m. kick off.
It will be another tough test for Billy Brown's young side against full time opposition following our 4-1 defeat at Tannadice against group leaders Dundee United, which was watched by Dees manager Neil McCann.
So far McCann's side have a 100% success rate in the group following a 2-1 win over Raith Rovers at Starks Park last Tuesday night which was followed by a 2-0 home win over Buckie Thistle on Saturday afternoon.
Despite the League Cup commencing in season 1946/7 the sides have only been drawn against each other on one previous occasion back in season 1979/80 with Dundee winning the first leg at Central Park 4-1 and 3-1 at Dens Park a few days later.
In more recent times results were more even in our First Division and Championship days. The sides won a game each at both Central Park and Dens Park in season 2013/14 while in season 2010/11 it was a win each at Central Park while we drew and lost our games at Dens Park.
