A goal in each half from Jon Robertson and Joe Mbu secured a fully merited three points at Balmoor this afternoon and ensured that the Blue Brazil retained top spot.
Robertson opened the scoring after 22 minutes from a Scott McBride cut-back and Mbu (55 mins) sealed the points with his first ever senior goal after getting on the end of a Brian Fairbairn free-kick.
"I am delighted with the three points but the performance was particularly pleasing", said Danny Lennon.
"Balmoor is a very difficult place to get a result but It was an excellent showing from the boys and the win was well deserved.
"We were all disappointed with the result in midweek so it was a fantastic reaction from the boys and they deserve immense credit."
The win extended our unbeaten run to nine league games. Lennon's team are also second top goalscorers in the division and have kept a remarkable 8 clean sheets from 16 league games.
The victory sets the Blue Brazil up nicely for Tuesday's league clash with Stenhousemuir at Central Park - kick off 7.45pm. John Armstrong (hamstring) and Dene Droudge (ankle) were subsituted against Peterhead as precautionary measures and both should be fit for Tuesday. Gareth Wardlaw missed the trip north so he could receive treatment in Fife and could be available for the midweek game.
