COWDENBEATH 0 ALLOA ATHLETIC 3
Our unbeaten home Championship record stretching back to January came to an end on Saturday as we went down 3-0 to Alloa. The Wasps opened the scoring seven minutes from the break when a 30 yard shot from Kevin Cawley took a deflection off Darren Brownlie and flew past the stranded Thomas Flynn.
Three minutes into the second half Barry Smith's side went further ahead when Mark Docherty sent over a cross from the left which was headed home by Greig Spence for his seventh goal of the campaign.
Skipper John Armstrong then saw a header from a Lewis Milne corner come off the bar but with 54 minutes gone the visitors completed the scoring when a Spence effort was blocked and former Central Parker Liam Buchanan was on hand to tap home the rebound.
Sean Higgins then came close to grabbing a consolation strike but his shot was cleared off the line by Wasps captain Ben Gordon.
The defeat now see's us slip down to ninth place in the table a point ahead of bottom club Dumbarton.
Next us for Jimmy Nicholl's side is a tough League Cup tie with Falkirk at the Falkirk Stadium on Tuesday night which is followed by next Saturday's home derby match with Raith Rovers.
