HAMILTON ACCIES 3 COWDENBEATH 4
After the disappointment of the Falkirk defeat we bounced back with another impressive away win at New Douglas Park on Saturday afternoon, our fourth game on the road without defeat.
There were two changes to the line- up with Nat Wedderburn and Jon Robertson returning with Jamie Stevenson and David Gold ruled out due to injury.
It was a whirlwind start on the New Douglas Park plastic and we took the lead after just five minutes, after a slick move.
Adamson found Hemmings on the left wing and he got to the bye line before sending over a perfect cross for the unmarked Greg STWART who fired home from 15 yards.
Things got even better four minutes later when Kane HEMMINGS finished clinically from 14 yards after a pass from Adamson.
At the other end Gordon sent over a cross which saw Andreu fire in a volley which was pushed away for a corner by Flynn.
Then on 20 minutes Milne’s pass split the Accies defence and HEMMINGS ran through to side foot the ball past Cuthbert.
A minute into the second half we went four up when STEWART side-footed home from a Hemmings cut back.
Hemmings then came close to completing his hat trick but his shot was blocked by Cuthbert.
Accies pulled a goal back in 66 minutes when Anthony ANDREU fired home an unstoppable 25 yard shot and a minute later Stewart had to be replaced after being injured earlier in a clash with Cuthbert.
Our frontline options were further reduced 11 minutes later with Hemmings having to withdraw and Accies took full advantage reducing the deficit further from the penalty spot through James KEATINGS after Wedderburn had fouled Scotland.
With four minutes to go ANDREU got his second goal of the afternoon when his 22 yard free kick took a defection to set up a grandstand finish.
The home side then laid siege on the Cowden goal but we almost added a fifth goal deep into stoppage time when Fowler broke clear and ran in to square the ball to Anthony, but the youngster was denied his first senior goal with Cuthbert blocking his effort.
