Home Defeat To Alloa

PostedNovember 11, 2013

Two first half goals gave Alloa their second Championship win of the season over us at Central Park on Saturday afternoon.

Kevin Cawley opened the scoring for the Wasps after 18 minutes when his 30 yard shot took a deflection off John Armstrong to beat Thomas Flynn.

Paul Hartley's then side doubled their advantage just after the half hour when Andy Kirk headed home from a corner.

At the start of the second half we had a great opportunity to get back into the game when Greg Stewart was fouled by keeper Scott Bain, but Marc McKenzie's penalty was saved by the Wasps custodian.

The result see's us remain in 9th place in the Championship although with Morton beating Dumbarton we are now only two points ahead of the Greenock side.

Next up for Colin Cameron's side is a home game with league leaders Hamilton on Saturday with a 3 p.m. kick off.
