Dumbarton at Home - Match Preview

PostedAugust 30, 2013

After our midweek exit from the League Cup its back to Championship action on Saturday afternoon when Dumbarton are our visitors to Central Park with a 3 p.m. kick off.

Although we are currently bottom of the table the board and manager have shown their intention that we will hopefully not be there for long with the signing of former captain Jon Robertson from Premiership side St Mirren and he will go straight into Colin Cameron’s squad for the game.

Tuesday night saw an extra time defeat from Premiership side Partick Thistle in the League Cup after we held them to a goal less 90 minutes.

The Sons also put in a creditable performance in the League Cup when a last minute goal gave Dundee United a 3-2 win at the Bet Butler Stadium on Wednesday night.

Ian Murray’s side currently sit in seventh place in the Championship with four points secured in a 3-1 home win over Morton last Saturday and an opening day home 1-1 draw with Falkirk.

In their only away Championship game so far this season they lost 4-1 at league leaders Hamilton a fortnight ago.
