Home Defeat To Dumbarton

Posted April 30, 2013

COWDENBEATH 2 DUMBARTON 3

After Saturday's defeat from the Sons we now need to beat Hamilton Accies at New Douglas Park and hope that relegated Airdrie can take something from their game with Dunfermline if we are to avoid the play off spot.

Things started brightly enough against the Sons on Saturday when Kyle Miller set up Craig Moore for the on loan striker to slot home his 6th goal of the season for us. However three goals in a nine minute spell before the break saw the Sons secure their Irn Bru First Division status for next season.

Scott Agnew , 35 yards from goal, saw Thomas Flynn off his line and fired home the equaliser and just four minutes later big Jim Lister headed home to put Dumbarton in front while a minute from the break Agnew got his second goal of the afternoon from the penalty spot after Colin Cameron brought down Steven McDougall on the edge of the box.

Sean McAllister had the ball in the net 12 minutes after the break but his 'goal' was chopped off and we had to wait until two minutes from time to add to the score when Kyle Miller headed home.

With Partick Thistle getting a late equaliser in their home game with Dunfermline the Pars are now a point ahead of us as we go into the closing game at Hamilton on Saturday.
