Chairman Resigns

PostedJune 6, 2009

Cowdenbeath Football Club Chairman Jim Methven resigned his position last week after almost 12 months in the role for "personal reasons". Mr Methven was appointed as chairman following relegation at the end of season 2007/08 and was instrumental in leading the Club through this difficult period, and stabilised the Club both on and off the park.

"I have taken the decision to resign as chairman for personal reasons", said Mr Methven.

"It has been a great honour to to have had this role with Cowdenbeath Football Club and it has been a very difficult decision to take at this time. Losing out on the league and then promotion was gut wrenching but securing the long-term future of the Club has always been my main objective .

"I'd like to thank everyone of the players for their efforts and also the staff at Central Park for their help throughout my period as chairman and, of course, the fans for the backing they gave the team last season , my best wishes are with everyone for the coming season ." (6 June 2009)
