Raith Rovers Away - Preview

Posted†December 27, 2012

We end a memorable 2012 on Saturday at Starks Park when we meet Raith Rovers. This is our second meeting of the season with the Rovers following an exciting and dramatic 4-4 draw at Central Park in October.
After Kyle Miller and Jamie Stevenson had given us a 2-0 lead midway through the first half Brian Graham and Greig Spence levelled the score by the interval.
Lewis Coult then came off the bench to score twice in two minutes but Pat Clarke and Simon Mensing with a 94th minute goal saw the honours shared.
We have now gone 11 games without a win in the Irn Bru First Division during which time we have had five draws and six defeats.
The latest draw was last Saturday against Livingston at Central Park when Marc McKenzie scored in the first minute with Stefan Scrougall levelling for Livi with 20 minutes to go.
Our away league record this season so far is†
Played 7, Won 2, Drawn 1, Lost 4, Goals For 8, Goals Against 9, Points 7.
Rovers currently sit in fifth place in the league table after 15 games with 21 points, 11 behind leaders Partick Thistle.
Last Saturday’s game at Dumbarton was postponed due to the weather and their last league outing came a fortnight ago when they went down 3-2 to Partick Thistle at Firhill.
Greig Spence had given the Rovers an early lead but goals from Stuart Bannigan and Steven Lawless gave the Jags a half time lead.
Brian Graham grabbed an equaliser with nine minutes to go but six minutes later Steven Craig grabbed the winner for Thistle to maintain their 100% home league record.†
