Livingston Away

Posted October 6, 2012

After our draw with Falkirk we are back on the road on Saturday afternoon when we make the short journey over the River Forth to face Livingston.
Since the former Meadowbank Thistle moved to the West Lothian new town in 1995 we have only played them four times in league fixtures.

These games came in season 1995/96 in the Third Division. An injury time goal from Kevin Bowmaker famously gave us a 1-0 win on our first visit to Almondvale on 18th November 1995.
This made us the first team to ever win a game at the ground but Livi won the other three games that season.
Our last visit to Livingston was on 15th February 2008 when we lost a Scottish Cup tie 2-0.
After losing back to back games against Morton and Partick Thistle we got back on track last Saturday with a 1-1 home draw against Falkirk.
Like last week’s opponents Falkirk John Hughes’ side were amongst the pre-season title favourites but have had a slow start to the campaign.
Last Saturday the ended a run of two successive defeats with a 5-0 home win over bottom of the table Dumbarton.
Jordan Morton, who had a successful loan spell with us last season, joined Livi in the summer after being released from Hearts and the travelling supporters will be looking at his progress with interest.
Referee on Saturday is Crawford Allan who will be assisted by Dougie Potter and Mike McNab.
The Cowdenbeath Supporters will be accommodated in the Section A1 of the West Stand and entry is by turnstiles 1 and 2.
Admission prices are: £17 adults and £7 concessions (over 65’s and under 16’s).
