Partick Thistle Away - Match Preview

PostedSeptember 21, 2012

After going down to Morton last week we will be looking to get back on track when we face Partick Thistle at Firhill although it will be a tough 90 minutes for Colin Cameron’s side as the Jags have recorded five straight wins to lead the Irn Bru First Division.
Our unbeaten five game run came to a dramatic end at Central Park last Saturday when we went down 4-3 to Morton despite a late rally.
It’s been Firhill for Thrills so far this season as stormed to the top of the league after winning their opening five league games.
Their latest win came last Saturday when they beat Livingston 2-1 at the Braidwood Motor Company Stadium.
Overall they have won eight league and cup games this season with their only defeat coming against Hamilton Accies in the Scottish Communities League Cup.
Summer signing from Motherwell has had a good start to his career and has scored six goals so far along with Chris Erskine.
Cowden fans will have memories of Lawless from last season when he was on loan to Albion Rovers and hit a brace in a 3-3 draw at Cliftonhill last December.
Man in the middle on Saturday afternoon is William Collum who was in charge of AC Milan’s 0-0 draw with Anderlecht at the San Siro on Tuesday night.
He will be assisted by Martin Cryans, who was his fourth official on Tuesday night and Alan Hogg.
