Competition: Scottish Youth Cup Referee: David McGeachie
Venue: Central Park

The under 19s progressed to the last 16 of the Scottish Youth Cup for the sixth successive season with a comfortable win over Peterhead on Sunday afternoon at Central Park.

Both sides had chances to open the scoring early on with visiting keeper Burr tipping a King shot over the bar in the opening minute.

Five minutes later Wilson done well to pull off a double save from Davidson as the Blue Toon looked to break the deadlock.

It was Cowden who eventually opened the scoring after 15 minutes when Ferguson sent over a cross from the right into the path of Chris King who drove the ball home from ten yards.

Five minutes later we doubled our advantage when Brett played Robinson through to fire home an angled shot.

Eight minutes into the second half Potter found himself through on goal for the visitors but Wilson made a timely block on the edge of the box to clear the danger.

Peterhead did however get themselves back in the game after 63 minutes when Carroll whipped a free kick into a crowded goalmouth and Stuart Taylor headed home from close range.

Any chances of a comeback were killed off with two goals in a two minute period. In 68 minutes John Ferguson shot home from the edge of the box and a few minutes later he ran almost the length of the Peterhead half before shooting home via the post despite a last ditch tackle from Stainton.

With 12 minutes to go Steven Bennett completed the scoring after King sent a free kick into the Blue Toon box he sent a first time shot on the turn past Burr from 15 yards.
